Space Exploration Technologies has partnered with Nvidia to launch Starmind, a planned network of orbital AI data centers that will use space-based solar power and natural cooling to support high-intensity AI compute workloads. The project extends SpaceX's business beyond launch services into AI infrastructure, building on its existing Starlink connectivity and AI segment, which reported US$2.6 billion in revenue in Q2 2026 with 1.4 gigawatts of compute online. The company directed about US$15.8 billion of capital expenditure to compute in the same quarter. Investors will watch for incremental AI revenue tied to Starmind, contracted capacity, and launch timing updates in upcoming quarterly reports.
