Rocket Lab has been selected by NASA for three dedicated Electron launches supporting the PolSIR and TSIS‑2 science missions from New Zealand starting in 2027, and recently completed the record-fast VICTUS HAZE responsive launch for the U.S. Space Force. The company also placed Synspective's tenth StriX radar Earth‑observation satellite into orbit on its Electron rocket. These wins highlight Rocket Lab's growing role as an integrated launch and space‑systems provider for civil and defense customers. The VICTUS HAZE mission demonstrated its capability as a prime contractor, vertically delivering spacecraft, launch, and on‑orbit operations for a time‑critical defense program. However, the company still faces near‑term risks around cash burn, dilution, and execution on large programs as it funds heavy Neutron rocket development and ongoing losses.

Rocket Lab has successfully placed another satellite into orbit for Synspective, marking the tenth dedicated launch for the Japan-based Earth observation company with 100% mission success. The “Ten Owl Of Ten” mission launched on Electron from Launch Complex 1 in New Zealand at 5:43 a.m. NZST on June 27, 2026, to a 552km low Earth orbit. With this launch, Synspective's StriX constellation now includes ten operational satellites, all deployed by Electron. This was Rocket Lab’s 12th launch of the year and its 91st overall, reinforcing Electron’s position as the world’s most frequently launched small-lift orbital rocket. Another 17 missions are booked for Synspective to complete the constellation by the end of the decade, with the next expected in early Q3 this year.

Rocket Lab completed its ninth dedicated Electron launch for Synspective on May 22, deploying another StriX synthetic aperture radar satellite and expanding the Japanese company's Earth-observation constellation, with another 18 launches booked. On May 26, the company completed its acquisition of Motiv Space Systems, now Rocket Lab Robotics, adding Mars-proven robotic arms, actuators, and precision mechanisms used on missions including NASA's Perseverance rover and CADRE lunar rovers. Rocket Lab reported first-quarter 2026 revenue of $200.3 million, up 63.5% year over year, with backlog above $2.2 billion, showing growth across launch services and space systems.
