Michael Saylor, co-founder and executive chairman of Strategy, signalled through his Sunday chart post with the message “Bitcoin Drive engaged” that the company may disclose a Bitcoin purchase on Monday, after a five-week buying hiatus. The last purchase occurred on June 22, totalling 520 BTC worth 34.9 million US dollars. Strategy currently holds 843,775 BTC at a total cost of approximately 63.69 billion US dollars, with an average price of 75,476 US dollars per Bitcoin, which is below the current market value of around 63,200 US dollars, resulting in a loss of about 10.4 billion US dollars. Recently, the company sold some Bitcoin to pay preferred stock dividends and increased its cash reserves to 3.75 billion US dollars, while also beginning to buy back STRC shares, with support from analysts at TD Cowen and Benchmark. Meanwhile, Strategy announced it will maintain the annual dividend rate on STRC at 12% for the record date starting in August, aiming for STRC shares to trade near 100 US dollars, though they currently closed at 89.46 US dollars, about 10.5% below the stated value.
