Strategy Inc. shares surged 7% on Monday after the company announced a new Digital Credit Capital Framework, marking a shift from a strict buy-and-hold Bitcoin strategy to active capital management. The board authorized up to $1 billion to repurchase Class A common stock and another $1 billion for its Digital Credit Securities. The company also authorized a program to selectively sell Bitcoin, with proceeds restricted to funding buybacks, paying preferred stock dividends and interest, and capitalizing its USD Reserve. To maintain financial health, Strategy established a policy requiring its USD Reserve to hold at least 12 months of expected preferred dividends and interest expenses, with the reserve currently at $2.55 billion, covering 17.4 months of its $1.76 billion in annual obligations. The regular dividend rate on its Variable Rate Series A Perpetual Stretch Preferred Stock was increased to 12.00% per annum and will be re-evaluated monthly. As of June 28, 2026, the company held 847,363 Bitcoin acquired at an aggregate purchase price of $64.10 billion, or an average of $75,651 per Bitcoin.
