Tesla IncSweden recommends EU reject Tesla's Full Self-Driving unless speed-limit feature is removed, threatening region-wide approval.

Sweden's Transport Administration has recommended that European regulators reject Tesla's Full Self-Driving (Supervised) system unless the company removes a feature that allows vehicles to exceed posted speed limits. The recommendation was sent in a letter to the European Union's Technical Committee on Motor Vehicles ahead of upcoming discussions, with a broader approval vote expected later this year. While Tesla has already received approvals in some European markets, a region-wide green light would facilitate expansion across the EU amid intensifying electric vehicle competition. Swedish officials argue that allowing an automated system to routinely exceed legal speed limits could undermine road safety goals and existing traffic laws. Tesla has not publicly commented on the recommendation.
