Tesla IncTesla delays volume production of Cybercab, Semi, and Megapack 3 beyond 2026, citing battery production constraints.

Tesla is no longer planning to reach volume production of three of its newest products – the Cybercab, the Tesla Semi, and its Megapack 3 commercial energy storage solution – in 2026, according to a second-quarter shareholder letter. The company also removed language about its Optimus robot reaching volume production. Tesla said it is working to increase battery production, specifically around its 4680 cell, to start building the Cybercab and Tesla Semi at scale, but did not explain the delay for Megapack 3 or Optimus. The pullback comes as Tesla's capital expenditures more than doubled and free cash flow turned negative, with net income falling 5% year-over-year to $1.1 billion. Revenue rose 26% to $28.2 billion, driven by record vehicle deliveries in several international markets and a 13% increase in energy storage and solar revenue to $3.1 billion.
