Tesla Increported $112M paper loss on Bitcoin and missed earnings expectations, shares fell 4.13% after-hours

Tesla recorded $112 million in paper losses on its cryptocurrency investments in the second quarter, marking the third straight quarter of red ink, but did not sell any of its Bitcoin holdings. As of March 31, the company held $674 million in digital assets, down 45 percent year-over-year and 14.24 percent from the previous quarter, a decline consistent with Bitcoin's drop in the period. On-chain analytics firm Arkham Intelligence reports that Tesla's stockpile consists solely of Bitcoin, with its stash of 11,509 BTC unchanged from the prior quarter. Tesla remains the twelfth-largest corporate holder of Bitcoin, while Strategy Inc. sits at the top with a stockpile worth over $55 billion. The company reported second-quarter revenue of $28.24 billion, beating analyst estimates, but fell short of earnings expectations, and its shares fell 4.13 percent in after-hours trading.
