Robinhood Markets IncRobinhood's own tokenized Stock Tokens and Robinhood Chain face new competition as Sunrise, Backpack, xStocks and Pump.fun roll out tokenized stocks on Solana.

The rollout of tokenized stocks on Solana is accelerating. Sunrise, which provides the distribution infrastructure for on-chain assets, announced on September 9 that it has added tokenized assets for 20 US stocks issued by Backpack Securities onto Solana. These include Nike, Micron, and Moderna. In addition, Pump.fun, a major token issuance platform on Solana, announced its new Custom Pairs feature on its official X account on September 10, allowing users issuing tokens to choose tokenized assets such as Tesla, Nvidia, and S&P 500 ETFs as the counterparty in a trading pair, rather than only Solana or USD Coin as before. Together with Sunrise and xStocks, the platform supports 93 asset pairs. The move that comes to mind here is US-based Robinhood, which in July launched the mainnet of Robinhood Chain, its own blockchain designed for real-world assets, and is rolling out Stock Tokens that provide economic exposure to stocks and ETFs. While Robinhood looks to lock in a tokenized-asset economy centered on its own chain, multiple players including Sunrise, Backpack Securities, xStocks, and Pump.fun are entering one after another on Solana, and the push around tokenized stocks looks set to fuel competition among blockchains as well.
