Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. Ltd.TSMC advances A14 roadmap with performance and density gains, pre-production in 2027.

Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company, or TSMC, is advancing its A14 technology roadmap, designed to drive AI transformation with faster computing and greater power efficiency. The A14 process, featuring second-generation nanosheet transistors, is expected to deliver a 10-15% speed improvement at the same power, or a 25-30% power reduction at the same speed, along with more than a 20% increase in logic density compared to its N2 process. On its July 2026 earnings call, management reported that an internal product-like vehicle achieved close to 90% device performance and close to 90% 256-megabit SRAM yield, with customer tape-out activity underway and ahead of schedule. TSMC expects A14 pre-production to begin in 2027 and volume production in 2028. The company has also extended the A14 family with A13 and A12, which are set for volume production in 2029, and expects the A14 family to become a larger and longer-lasting node than N2.
