Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company raised its 2026 capital expenditure guidance to $60 billion to $64 billion, up from the April guidance of $52 billion to $56 billion, citing strong structural demand from 5G, AI, and high-performance computing. The company plans to direct about 70% to 80% of that spending toward advanced process technologies, with specialty technologies receiving about 10% and advanced packaging, testing, mask-making, and other areas accounting for another 10% to 20%. TSMC is also expanding its Arizona presence with an additional $100 billion investment, including several wafer fabs for 2-nanometer and below technologies as well as advanced packaging fabs, and plans to build 13 leading-edge and advanced packaging fabs in Taiwan over the next several years. On dividends, TSMC paid TWD 467 billion in cash dividends in 2025, or TWD 18 per share, up 28.6% year over year, and expects to increase the dividend to TWD 24 per share in 2026, up another 33% year over year. Peer updates show GlobalFoundries spent $408 million on capital expenditures in the second quarter, or roughly 23% of revenue, and paid its first-ever quarterly cash dividend of $0.12 per share on July 14, while Intel raised its 2026 CapEx outlook to exceed $20 billion on strong customer demand signals.
