Wave Life Sciences LtdInitiation of Phase 2a trial for WVE-007, with positive Phase 1 data showing fat reduction and support for infrequent dosing.

Wave Life Sciences has initiated the Phase 2a multidose portion of its INLIGHT trial evaluating WVE-007, an investigational GalNAc-siRNA, in individuals with obesity and high BMI. The placebo-controlled study will enroll participants with a BMI of 35 to 50 kilograms per square meter, with and without type 2 diabetes, and will assess body composition, weight loss, and cardiometabolic biomarkers over 12 months. In the ongoing Phase 1 single-dose portion, a single 240-milligram dose of WVE-007 led to a 14 percent reduction in visceral fat, a 5 percent reduction in total fat, and a 3 percent reduction in waist circumference at six months, with data supporting once- or twice-yearly dosing. The company expects the Phase 2a results to inform further development in obesity, MASH, type 2 diabetes, and cardiovascular disease, and plans to initiate additional Phase 2 trials in the second half of 2026 evaluating WVE-007 in combination with incretins and as post-incretin maintenance.
