ZenaTech has filed five provisional US patent applications covering acoustic fire suppression and aerial wildfire assessment technologies for integration with its ZenaDrone 1000 drone platform. The sound-wave-based approach is designed to support rapid initial response and strengthen emergency capabilities as an additional tool alongside traditional ground-based firefighting methods. CEO Shaun Passley stated that the company believes autonomous aerial drone technology can play an important role in detecting, containing, and extinguishing wildfires, and that a coordinated drone swarm approach could extend the effective range and coverage of acoustic suppression beyond current single-drone capabilities. The company views the engineering challenge of making the technology work at real-world scale as a first-mover opportunity in a largely untapped category, with potential applications beyond wildfires including electrical substations, data centers, battery storage facilities, and protection of homes from embers. ZenaTech expects to continue research, engineering, and field testing throughout 2026 while advancing toward future commercial and government pilot programs.
