Zhihu IncZhihu commits RMB1.5 billion to an AI-focused fund, a major transaction requiring shareholder approval.

Zhihu Inc., a leading online content community in China, announced that it will subscribe for a limited partnership interest in Tianjin Lisi Xingshen Equity Investment Partnership, an AI-focused fund, with a capital commitment of RMB1.5 billion, subject to shareholder approval at an extraordinary general meeting. The fund will primarily invest in early-to-mid-stage unlisted AI and technology enterprises in mainland China, and Zhihu's interest will be no more than 30% after the subscription. As a limited partner, Zhihu will not manage the fund's day-to-day operations or make specific investment decisions. The company stated that this move does not change its principal business or strategic focus, and it will continue to develop its online content community while prudently evaluating AI opportunities. The subscription constitutes a major transaction under Hong Kong listing rules and requires shareholder approval.
