Zhihu Q2 Revenue Misses Estimates, Loss Widens

Zhihu reported second-quarter 2026 GAAP earnings per ADS of negative $0.07, with revenue of $101.7 million, down 3.74% year over year and missing analyst estimates by $3.39 million. Gross margin fell to 57.0% from 62.5% a year earlier. The company posted an adjusted net loss of RMB10.3 million (US$1.5 million), compared with adjusted net income of RMB91.3 million in the same period of 2025. Average monthly subscribing members reached 13.1 million in the quarter. As of June 30, 2026, Zhihu held cash and cash equivalents, term deposits, restricted cash, and short-term investments totaling RMB4,423.8 million (US$652.0 million), down from RMB4,451.2 million at the end of 2025.
