DB HiTek Completes Qualification for 8-Inch SiC MOSFET Process
DB HiTek, South Korea's leading pure-play 8-inch foundry, announced it has completed reliability qualification for its 1,200 V silicon carbide (SiC) MOSFET process on 8-inch wafers, establishing the world's first complete 8-inch SiC foundry process flow. The company is providing customers with Process Design Kits (PDKs) for its first- and second-generation processes, with a third-generation PDK scheduled for November, which is expected to shorten product development time by more than a year. The second-generation process achieves a specific on-resistance of 2.5 mΩ•cm² or less and a threshold voltage of 3 V or higher at an on-state gate voltage of 18 V. The third-generation process aims for a specific on-resistance of 2.3 mΩ•cm² or less and a short-circuit withstand time of at least 2.5 μs. DB HiTek plans to provide access to longstanding customers in the third quarter of this year and to all customers starting in the second quarter of 2027, with volume production targeted for 2027.
