Proximus SA reported second-quarter 2026 results, reiterating its full-year guidance and narrowing its global EBITDA forecast to a range of 110 million to 120 million euros. Domestic revenue rose 1.1 percent, supported by higher IT hardware and terminals revenue, while residential revenue increased 2.2 percent year-on-year. The company added 25,000 mobile postpaid cards, 8,000 internet subscribers, and 12,000 convergent residential customers, and expanded its fiber footprint to more than 2.75 million homes with 820,000 active fiber customers. Group free cash flow was negative 82 million euros in the first half, including the Unifiber acquisition cash out, and on an organic basis it was minus 25 million euros. The Belgian Competition Authority approved the network collaboration agreement in Flanders with Wyre and Telenet, which is expected to enable a more capital-efficient fiber rollout.

Ekinops has signed a framework agreement with Belgian Tier-1 operator Proximus, securing a 10-year supplier contract to deploy a nationwide high-speed optical network across Belgium. The project, named NEURON, will cover over 600 sites and follows a memorandum of understanding announced in March. Proximus selected Ekinops' WDM platform for its ability to handle traffic rates from ultra-low to very high speeds in a chassis already compatible with 1.6 terabits per second. Under the agreement, Ekinops will supply infrastructure supporting 800 gigabits per second optical capacity, a broad range of reconfigurable optical add-drop multiplexers for backbone and metro networks, and its Celestis NMS network management solution with associated software and professional services. Lab and field trials begin now, with first network deployment expected in the second half of 2026.
