KWS SAAT SE & Co. KGaA breeds, produces, and distributes agricultural seeds. It operates through four segments: Sugarbeet, Corn, Cereals, and Vegetables. The Corn segment handles corn, soybeans, and sunflowers; Sugarbeet covers sugar beet and diploid hybrid potatoes; Cereals includes rye, wheat, barley, oilseed rape, peas, catch crops, mustard, and oats; and Vegetables covers spinach, beans, Swiss chard, red beet, and tomatoes. The company has a research and development center of around 10,000 square meters, including a 6,600 square meter greenhouse and an outdoor vegetable preparation and research area with offices and laboratories. Formerly KWS SAAT SE, it changed its name to KWS SAAT SE & Co. KGaA in July 2019. Founded in 1856, it is headquartered in Einbeck, Germany.
