It operates through Banking, Asset Management, AL Sydbank Markets, Treasury, and Other segments, providing deposits, loans and advances, advisory services, securities trading, asset management, mortgage credit distribution, investment, pension, and insurance products. It also offers private banking, services for investment funds, pooled pension plans, foundations, institutional clients, and wealthy customers, along with economic and equity research, retail banking services, mortgage bonds, and price quotes for bonds, shares, and foreign exchange, and undertakes market-making obligations. The company was formerly known as Sydbank A/S and changed its name to AL Sydbank A/S in December 2025; it was founded in 1986 and is headquartered in Aabenraa, Denmark.
