Yapi Ve Kredi Bankasi Net Profit Surges 36% in First Half 2026
Yapi Ve Kredi Bankasi AS reported a 36% year-on-year increase in net profit to TRY31 billion for the first half of 2026. The bank's net interest margin widened 68 basis points year to date to 2.9%, while fee income grew 26% and pre-provision profit rose 62%. Return on tangible equity reached 23.4%, though cost of risk stood at 201 basis points, above the guided range of 150-175 basis points, amid asset quality pressures in unsecured consumer loans and SMEs. Management expects the second quarter to be the weakest, with net interest margin and earnings improving in subsequent quarters, and announced a strategic partnership with Azimut Holdings Italy to enhance asset management offerings and strengthen the capital base by approximately 70 basis points.
