Harbin Electric Company Limited, together with its subsidiaries, manufactures and sells power plant equipment in the People's Republic of China, the rest of Asia, Africa, Europe, and the United States. It operates through segments focused on a new power system with new energy as the main body, a clean and efficient industrial system, a green and low-carbon drive system, and other businesses. The company offers thermal power equipment such as boilers, steam turbines, and steam turbine generators; hydropower generator units; nuclear power main equipment including nuclear island and conventional island equipment; and steam power equipment consisting of 9F/9H class gas turbines and combined gas and steam cycle sets. It also develops and produces clean energy products such as solar energy, tidal power, and desalination, and provides ancillary equipment, industrial steam turbines, industrial boilers, control devices, valves for power stations, and pressure vessels. In addition, it engages in turnkey construction of power station projects, servicing of thermal and hydropower equipment, import and export of power station equipment, after-sales service, research and development of engineering technology for power equipment and ancillary products, and environmental protection engineering services including desulfurization, denitrification, and dust removal. The company also participates in manufacturing, finance, wholesale of other mechanical equipment and electronic products, leasing, export trade, water conservancy, environment and public facilities management, biomass power generation, business services, and science and technology promotion and application activities. Founded in 1994, it is headquartered in Harbin, the People's Republic of China, and is a subsidiary of Harbin Electric Corporation.
