Laekna's LAE002 NDA accepted in China for HR+/HER2- breast cancer

Laekna announced that China's National Medical Products Administration has accepted the New Drug Application for its AKT inhibitor LAE002. The drug is indicated for patients with locally advanced or metastatic HR-positive/HER2-negative breast cancer with PIK3CA/AKT1/PTEN alterations who have progressed on or after endocrine therapies. The filing is supported by positive Phase 3 AFFIRM-205 trial results showing a statistically significant improvement in progression-free survival. Laekna is collaborating with Qilu Pharmaceutical for China commercialization under a licensing deal worth up to RMB 2.045 billion in milestone payments plus royalties.
