Hulic to Acquire Tetsuryokukai, a Cram School Specializing in University of Tokyo Entrance Exam Prep, from Benesse and Make It a Wholly Owned Subsidiary

Hulic announced on the 7th that it will acquire all shares of Tokyo Kyoikuken, which operates the University of Tokyo entrance exam prep cram school Tetsuryokukai, from Benesse Corporation, making it a wholly owned subsidiary. The acquisition price is undisclosed, and the planned acquisition date is the 31st. Hulic entered the children's education business in 2020 and has been promoting the consolidation of Risoh Education Group as a subsidiary and partnerships with Konami Sports. Under its medium-term management plan, it advocates becoming a real estate trading company and is accelerating M&A. Tetsuryokukai was founded in 1983 and has campuses in Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto, and Hyogo. Hulic will leverage its real estate development and operation expertise to support the expansion of existing areas and new store openings.

Kennedy Wilson Acquires 421-Unit Multifamily Community in Westchester County for $237 Million

Kennedy Wilson has partnered with Kenedix and Hulic to acquire Carraway, a 421-unit multifamily community in West Harrison, New York, for $237 million. The Class A property, completed in 2021, is located in Westchester County approximately 25 miles north of Manhattan and features a mix of studio, one-bedroom and two-bedroom residences, structured parking and about 6,400 square feet of ground-floor retail space. The acquisition expands Kennedy Wilson's investment management platform and deepens its relationship with the two Japanese partners, marking their fourth joint venture investment together. Carraway benefits from average household incomes exceeding $175,000 in the area and proximity to major employers such as IBM, PepsiCo, Mastercard, Morgan Stanley and Regeneron, with rents increasing more than 5% over the last year.

Astroscale Secures ¥30.6 Billion Funding and SKY Perfect JSAT Partnership

Astroscale Holdings Inc. has secured ¥30.6 billion in funding from Hulic, SKY Perfect JSAT, and other investors, closing the transaction on June 5. The funding follows a strategic partnership announced on May 19 with SKY Perfect JSAT, which is investing in Astroscale and will cooperate on on-orbit servicing including satellite inspection, repair, and life-extension services. For fiscal year 2026, Astroscale reported revenue of ¥5.94 billion, up 141.8% year over year, with project income rising 89% to ¥11.5 billion and a backlog of ¥37.9 billion.
