Sakura Internet says unauthorized access probe complete, business impact limited

Sakura Internet announced on the 10th that, following the completion of a series of investigations into unauthorized access to its systems, it expects the impact on its consolidated results for the fiscal year ending March 2027 to be limited. It said it currently has no plans to revise its earnings forecast and will promptly disclose any matters that should be made public going forward. On August 17, the company announced that it had confirmed unauthorized access by a third party to some customer environments of its rental server service, saying that 583 accounts were targeted by unauthorized logins and that personal data, including some customer information, may have been viewed or obtained by a third party. Additional investigation confirmed that a further 368 accounts may have been similarly affected, and the company implemented the necessary measures. In the series of investigations, no external removal of illicit data, unauthorized use of information, or other secondary damage has been confirmed at this point. The company has also compiled measures to prevent recurrence, including expanding monitoring targets and detection functions to enable earlier detection of unauthorized access.
