Exploring the Intersection of Regional Revitalization and Blockchain: N.Avenue Club Roundtable Examines Bringing Regions On-Chain

The 11th roundtable of the corporate Web3 business community N.Avenue Club, held on June 25, discussed the intersection of regional revitalization and blockchain. Takuya Yoshida, head of the business development office at Shizuoka Financial Group, explained a strategy to attract people and spur regional development by bringing the region on-chain, against the backdrop of population outflow in Shizuoka. Haruo Narimoto, partner attorney at TMI Associates, pointed out the advantage of digital municipal bonds, which may become available as early as next spring: if local residents purchase them, interest would circulate within the region. He proposed a pragmatic introduction that does not insist on blockchain initially. Kenichi Yoshida, director and CTO of GALLUSYS, the company behind the photo battle app SNPIT, presented a case where the app, with approximately 1.5 million cumulative downloads, generated actual visits and spending at Lake Haruna in Gunma Prefecture, noting that new connections with regions are emerging through games. In the latter half of the discussion, opinions were exchanged on topics such as the use of regional stablecoins and the value of DAOs lying more in knowledge procurement than in fundraising.
