Starlake Bioscience first-half net profit plunges 90% as main product prices fall

Starlake Bioscience has released its 2026 interim report. Affected by lower selling prices for its main products, net profit attributable to shareholders of the listed company fell by more than 90% year on year in the first half. The financial report shows that in the first half of 2026, the company achieved operating revenue of 8.189 billion yuan, up 0.36% year on year. Net profit attributable to shareholders of the listed company was 70.72 million yuan, down 91.54% year on year. Non-GAAP net profit was 55.28 million yuan, down 93.14% from the same period last year. The company's operating cash flow swung from 614 million yuan in the same period last year to negative 791 million yuan, a year-on-year decrease of 228.82%, mainly because of increased purchases of raw materials during the period. Starlake Bioscience said the main reason for the decline in performance was that, affected by market supply and demand, selling prices for its main products such as monosodium glutamate and amino acids fell, causing overall profit to decline year on year.
