GMO Coin Changes LTC Deposit Reflection Time by 10 Times

Cryptocurrency exchange operator GMO Coin has announced that it will change the reflection time for Litecoin (LTC) deposits from a minimum of 10 minutes to a minimum of 100 minutes starting from 12:00 on September 16. This is 10 times longer than the previous time. The change applies to LTC deposits received after 12:00 on September 16, and deposits from external wallets or other exchanges will take longer to be reflected in account balances. On the other hand, the time for sending funds from GMO Coin to external addresses will not change. The reason for the change is to ensure that deposits are reliably reflected, taking into account the 'reorg' situation occurring on the LTC blockchain. Reorg refers to a reorganization of the blockchain, and in March 2026, approximately 85,034 LTC were fraudulently pegged out due to exploitation of a vulnerability in MWEB, and on April 25, a reorg of 13 blocks occurred.

bitFlyer Issues First Notice on Bitcoin Hard Fork Plan

Crypto exchange bitFlyer issued a first notice to users on August 10 regarding a hard fork plan to split a new crypto asset called eCash from the Bitcoin blockchain. At present, buying, selling, receiving, and sending Bitcoin can be used as normal, but because replay protection is expected to be optional for eCash, the exchange said it may temporarily suspend services from an asset protection standpoint. The distribution of eCash has not yet been decided. The plan is led by Paul Sztorc, co-founder and CEO of LayerTwo Labs, and existing Bitcoin holders will receive new coins at a ratio of one ECX per Bitcoin. Mr. Sztorc initially planned a one-time implementation on August 23, but has changed to a three-stage rollout moving to the official version on October 31 after alpha and beta phases. The plan indicates an intention to manually distribute the equivalent of 500,000 to 600,000 ECX on the new chain from roughly 1.1 million dormant Bitcoin in addresses associated with Satoshi Nakamoto, drawing criticism from parts of the community. Domestically, GMO Coin also issued a similar first notice and announced the possibility of suspending Bitcoin trading.
