Bionano Genomics raised the low end of its full-year 2026 revenue guidance to $31 million to $33 million while initiating third-quarter guidance of $8.2 million to $8.6 million. Management attributed the decision to raise only the low end of annual guidance to ongoing flow cell manufacturing capacity constraints, noting that demand continues to outpace supply and that several large orders near the end of the third quarter were considered at risk. The company also announced the return of Dr. Alex Hastie as Chief Scientific Officer.

Bionano Genomics has appointed Alex Hastie as its Chief Scientific Officer, effective July 20, 2026. Dr. Hastie, who spent over 14 years helping develop the company's optical genome mapping technology, returns to lead global scientific strategy and clinical applications development. His appointment drew praise from researchers at Radboud University Medical Center, Johns Hopkins, MD Anderson, and Dartmouth Hitchcock, who highlighted his deep expertise in OGM. Bionano said Dr. Hastie will focus on strengthening clinical and research collaborations and accelerating the translation of OGM into broader research use.
