BioRestorative Therapies, Inc. develops therapeutic products and medical therapies using cell and tissue protocols, primarily involving adult stem cells. Its pipeline includes BRTX-100, a lead cell therapy candidate made from autologous cultured mesenchymal stem cells collected from the patient's bone marrow, intended for non-surgical treatment of painful lumbosacral disc disorders or as a complementary therapy to surgery, and ThermoStem, a cell-based therapy candidate targeting obesity and metabolic disorders using brown adipose-derived stem cells to generate brown adipose tissue. The company also operates a commercial biocosmeceutical platform and provides an investigational curved needle device to deliver cells and/or other therapeutic products or material to the spine, discs, and other parts of the body. Formerly known as Stem Cell Assurance, Inc., it changed its name to BioRestorative Therapies, Inc. in August 2011 and is headquartered in Melville, New York.

BioRestorative Therapies Announces 1-for-20 Reverse Stock Split

BioRestorative Therapies announced on Wednesday that it will effect a 1-for-20 reverse stock split at 4:30 p.m. ET on September 7, with shares trading on a split-adjusted basis starting September 8. The reverse split will reduce the company's outstanding shares from approximately 27.62 million to 1.38 million, and the number of authorized common shares will be reduced proportionately from 1.5 billion to 75 million. The move is intended to help the company regain compliance with Nasdaq's $1 minimum bid price requirement. Holders entitled to a fractional share will receive one whole share instead, and outstanding stock options, warrants, and other incentive awards will be proportionally adjusted, including applicable exercise prices.
