ECARX Tops 12 Million Vehicle Deployments Across 18 OEMs
ECARX announced its automotive technologies have now been deployed in more than 12 million vehicles worldwide, spanning 18 OEMs, 28 brands and 159 markets. The company added more than 914,000 vehicle deployments in the first half of 2026, with its technology supporting vehicle programs for brands including Geely, FAW-Hongqi, Lotus, Polestar, Volvo Cars, Renault and Volkswagen. ECARX is also expanding its software capabilities through its pending acquisition of Flyme Auto, an intelligent cockpit operating system that has been nominated to provide software for a leading international luxury brand in China. ECARX to Integrate Tencent Cloud's WorkBuddy AI Across Flyme Ecosystem
ECARX Holdings Inc. announced that Tencent Cloud's WorkBuddy, an AI-powered smart work assistant, will be integrated with Flyme AIOS, the intelligent operating system ECARX has agreed to acquire, through joint development of WorkBuddy AI tools across the entire Flyme ecosystem. Building on Flyme's existing Super Aicy AI assistant, WorkBuddy will deliver agentic-AI capabilities to all Flyme-powered devices, including smartphones, AI devices, and Flyme Auto for in-vehicle use, creating a unified AI workbench. Users can issue natural-language prompts to draft documents, create reports, organize data, and automate workflows, with WorkBuddy's cloud backend processing requests and returning validated results directly in the conversation thread. WorkBuddy serves 12 industries with over 140 AI advisors and more than 22,000 skills and plugins, offering both on-device processing and secure cloud sandbox execution. Flyme AIOS will become part of ECARX's full-stack software infrastructure, which spans multi-screen cabin interaction, mobile-IoT-vehicle connectivity, middleware, UI/UX frameworks, and application-development toolkits.
ECARX reported second-quarter 2026 revenue up 45% year-over-year and 71% sequentially, with gross margin expanding to 19.8% from 10.8% a year earlier and a fourth consecutive quarter of positive adjusted EBITDA. ECARX outlined its global expansion strategy, product portfolio and financial targets during a JPMorgan conference session, highlighting partnerships with major automakers and continued investment in software, silicon and artificial intelligence. Founder and CEO Ziyu Shen said the company provides a full-stack computing system for vehicles, including hardware, system-on-chip technology, middleware and software, aiming to offer automakers a one-stop solution for software-defined vehicles. COO Peter Cirino said ECARX has systems deployed in more than 12 million vehicles, and the company has announced its intention to acquire the Flyme OS business. Shen identified Geely and FAW Group as important customers in China, alongside programs with Dongfeng, Chery and other domestic automakers, and cited programs or partnerships outside China involving Volkswagen Group, Renault, Volvo Cars, Polestar and Mercedes-Benz. ECARX upsizes 2025 convertible notes offering to $130 million
ECARX has increased the size of its 2025 convertible senior notes offering to $130 million from the originally planned $100 million. An existing investor subscribed to an additional $15 million of the notes, while another existing note was transferred to a new investor. The notes carry a conversion price of $2.62 per share and mature in 2028. ECARX shares fell nearly 6% in premarket trading following the announcement.
Ecarx to acquire entire Flyme software business for CNY 1.8 billion
Ecarx Holdings has signed a definitive agreement to acquire the entire Flyme software business, including the Flyme Auto in-vehicle cockpit operating system and the Flyme cross-device operating system, from DreamSmart Group. The US Nasdaq-listed company will pay CNY 1.8 billion, or USD 265 million, for a 100% stake in the business, which will be carved out from DreamSmart. Flyme Auto OS has already been integrated into more than two million vehicles globally across multiple brands. Ecarx said the full acquisition, which expands on a preliminary agreement signed in April, best serves its long-term product and strategic objectives after completing due diligence.
