First Community Bankshares Reports Record Quarterly Net Income of $22.51 Million and Raises Dividend

First Community Bankshares, Inc. reported record quarterly net income of $22.51 million, or $1.19 per diluted common share, for the second quarter of 2026, and declared a quarterly cash dividend of $0.33 per common share, an increase of $0.02 or 6.45% over the prior quarter. The record net income was driven in part by a $10.39 million pre-tax gain on the sale of the company's stake in Bearing Insurance; excluding merger-related and other non-recurring items, adjusted net income was $14.38 million, up 17.47% from the same period in 2025. Net interest margin remained strong at 4.38%, and the company's loan portfolio increased $145.00 million from year-end 2025, though excluding the Hometown Bancshares acquisition, loans decreased approximately $26.05 million. Total non-performing assets declined to $17.15 million from $19.11 million a year earlier, and book value per share rose to $28.52. The dividend is payable on August 21, 2026 to shareholders of record on August 7, 2026.
