Global Indemnity Q2 Net Income Rises 8% to $11.1 Million

Global Indemnity Group reported second quarter 2026 net income of $11.1 million, up 8% from $10.3 million a year earlier, driven by strong underwriting and higher investment income. Accident year combined ratio was 94.7% for the quarter, producing underwriting income of $5.8 million, while Belmont Core gross written premium rose 7% to $117 million. Investment income for the second quarter was $16.4 million compared to $14.7 million in 2025, including a $2.3 million mark-to-market adjustment on limited partnership interest that reversed a first-quarter loss. The fixed income portfolio's book yield increased to 4.42% with an average duration of 1.08 years as of June 30, 2026, and the company expects to reach a 4.9% book yield by year-end. Discretionary capital stood at $302 million at June 30, 2026, and management reiterated its goal to return the expense ratio to roughly 36% within a two-year period.
