Horizon Bancorp Reports Second Quarter 2026 Net Income of $24.9 Million

Horizon Bancorp, Inc. reported net income of $24.9 million, or $0.49 per diluted share, for the second quarter of 2026. The results included a pre-tax legal charge of $3.1 million, which reduced earnings by $0.05 per diluted share. Net interest income rose 14.7% year-over-year to $63.5 million, and the net interest margin on a fully taxable equivalent basis expanded to 4.37% from 4.29% in the prior quarter. Total loans held for investment increased 6.6% on an annualized linked-quarter basis, driven by strong organic commercial loan growth, while credit quality remained solid with annualized net charge-offs of just 0.05% of average loans.
