Hawthorn Bancshares, Inc. is the bank holding company for Hawthorn Bank, providing banking products and services to families and businesses. It offers checking and savings accounts, certificates of deposit, and various loans including commercial and industrial, personal, mortgage, installment, and real estate loans. The company also provides trust, wealth and treasury management, brokerage services, safety deposit boxes, debit cards, and internet banking. Formerly known as Exchange National Bancshares, Inc., it changed its name to Hawthorn Bancshares, Inc. in 2007. Founded in 1865, it is headquartered in Jefferson City, Missouri.

Hawthorn Bancshares Stock Gains After Second-Quarter Net Income Rises 20 Percent

Hawthorn Bancshares shares have gained 1.9 percent since reporting second-quarter 2026 results, underperforming the S&P 500's 4.7 percent advance over the same period. Net income rose 20.1 percent to 7.3 million dollars, while diluted earnings per share increased 20.5 percent to 1.06 dollars. Net interest income grew 6.9 percent to 17.3 million dollars, and non-interest income jumped 50.6 percent to 5.3 million dollars, partly due to a gain on the sale of an unused administrative office.
