Lexaria Bioscience Sets August 3 Effective Date for 1-for-15 Reverse Stock Split

Lexaria Bioscience Corp. announced it will effect a 1-for-15 reverse stock split effective August 3, 2026, to regain compliance with Nasdaq's minimum $1.00 bid price requirement. The reverse split will consolidate the company's current 24,787,446 issued common shares into approximately 1,652,518 shares, with fractional shares rounded up, and will also proportionally adjust authorized shares from 220 million to about 14.67 million as well as outstanding convertible securities and their exercise prices. CEO Richard Christopher stated the move is critical for maintaining the Nasdaq listing and supporting business development and investor appeal amid recent equity market weakness. The company noted it examined 24 other reverse splits by Nasdaq-listed biotech firms in the first half of 2026, which averaged a 1-for-18 ratio. Following the split, shares will continue trading under the symbol LEXX with a new CUSIP number, and the company expects to comply with the minimum price rule by mid-August.

Lexaria Begins Dosing in Human Study of Oral DehydraTECH-Semaglutide

Lexaria Bioscience announced that dosing began on schedule on June 14th for Human Pilot Study #7, a five-week trial evaluating two oral DehydraTECH-semaglutide compositions against Novo Nordisk's Wegovy tablets. The study is investigating safety, tolerability, and pharmacokinetic properties across three arms, comparing SNAC-inclusive DHT-sema formulations in both tablet and capsule formats to the commercially available Wegovy tablets. For the first time, Lexaria is using an oral tablet DHT-sema composition designed to mimic certain physical properties of Novo's Rybelsus and Wegovy tablets, and both test articles incorporate SNAC in a multi-dose, multi-week human study. The five-week duration is intended to allow achievement of steady-state drug concentrations, and results are expected to be reviewed by the pharmaceutical industry for potential commercial relationships. The study is fully funded from existing corporate resources.
