J.P. Morgan Upgrades Greece to Overweight

J.P. Morgan has upgraded its investment rating on Greece from Neutral to Overweight. The firm expects around one billion dollars in inflows this year as some Greek stocks are included in major European equity indices. With the rebalancing on September 18, they are set to join the Euro STOXX, and the country's four largest financial institutions—Eurobank, National Bank of Greece, Piraeus Bank, and Alpha Bank—are expected to be added to STOXX indices. Global index provider MSCI last month highlighted the economic and financial recovery and announced plans to reclassify Greece as a developed market in 2027.
