Prairie Operating Co. has appointed Jennifer M. Grigsby to its Board of Directors. The company also announced that Stephen Lee has stepped down from the Board to focus on his growing responsibilities as Co-CEO of Renewa. Ms. Grigsby brings more than 30 years of experience in the energy industry, corporate finance, and governance, and currently serves on the boards of First Busey Corporation, Superior Plus Corp., and CompSource Mutual Insurance Company. She previously served as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Ascent Resources and held senior leadership roles at Chesapeake Energy Corporation. Prairie Operating Co. is an independent energy company focused on oil and natural gas development in the Denver-Julesburg Basin.

Prairie Operating Co. has promoted Gregory S. Patton to Chief Executive Officer and appointed Michael J. Shelly as Chief Financial Officer, effective immediately. Patton, who previously served as Executive Vice President and CFO, will also join the board, while former interim CEO Rich Frommer returns to his role as director. Shelly joins from Citigroup, where he was a managing director in the natural resources group with over two decades of investment banking experience. The company says the leadership changes position it to optimize its capital structure and pursue disciplined growth in the Denver-Julesburg Basin.
