SGS first-half profit slips to 309 million francs while sales rise 7.6%

SGS Group reported a 1.6% decline in first-half profit attributable to equity holders to 309 million francs, while sales rose 7.6% to 3.683 billion francs. Adjusted operating income increased 9% to 555 million francs, with the adjusted operating income margin improving 20 basis points to 15.1% of sales. The Swiss inspection, verification, testing, and certification company confirmed its fiscal 2026 outlook for 5% to 7% organic sales growth and an adjusted operating income margin at or above 16%, and reconfirmed its 2027 targets for annual organic sales growth of 5% to 7% and at least a 1.5 percentage point improvement in adjusted operating income margin versus 2023. SGS also announced that Malcolm Reid, Head of Europe, will retire on July 31, 2026, and will be succeeded by Rafael Navazo, currently Head of Latin America.
