SSR Mining guides 2026 sustaining capex $25M–$35M above original plan, now $230M–$235M
SSR Mining now expects 2026 sustaining capital expenditures to be $25 million to $35 million higher than originally guided, landing in the $230 million to $235 million range. CFO Michael Sparks disclosed the updated figure during the company's second-quarter earnings call, where SSR also reported a cash position of nearly $1.8 billion following the completed sale of its Turkish assets. The company produced 102,000 gold equivalent ounces at an all-in sustaining cost of $2,622 per ounce in the quarter, with costs trending toward the upper end of full-year guidance due to higher fuel prices and deliberate increases in sustaining and growth investments. SSR returned $338 million to shareholders through buybacks in Q2 and has a $500 million repurchase program underway, while also increasing its revolving credit facility from $400 million to $600 million. Management reiterated a back-half-weighted production profile, with roughly 55% to 60% of second-half output concentrated in the fourth quarter.

SSR Mining Converts Hod Maden Stake Into a Royalty
SSR Mining has completed the sale of its 20% stake in the Hod Maden development project in Turkey, converting the equity interest into a 4.0% net smelter return royalty on the entire project. Royal Gold holds a call right to buy half of that royalty, 2.0%, for $160 million, exercisable up to 12 months after Hod Maden reaches commercial production, along with a consent right over any royalty sale before January 1, 2028, and a right of first refusal on future sales.
