It operates through three segments: PeopleReady, PeopleManagement, and PeopleSolutions. PeopleReady offers general, industrial, and skilled trade contingent staffing for industries such as construction, transportation, manufacturing, retail, hospitality, and energy. PeopleManagement provides on-site industrial staffing and commercial driver services under the Staff Management, SIMOS Insourcing Solutions, and Centerline Drivers brands. PeopleSolutions delivers recruitment process outsourcing, talent advisory, and managed service provider solutions, including the Affinix technology platform. Formerly known as Labor Ready, Inc., the company changed its name to TrueBlue, Inc. in December 2007. It was incorporated in 1985 and is headquartered in Tacoma, Washington.

TrueBlue Stock Reacts to Improving Industrial Staffing Demand

Palm Valley Capital Management noted that TrueBlue's stock appears to be reacting to improving demand for industrial staffing, which grew 10% year-over-year in May before falling to 2% by mid-June. The company is participating in the data center boom through significant growth in its energy projects but has not yet converted this into positive earnings. TrueBlue ended its proxy battle with EHS Investments in April by entering into a cooperation agreement and received and rejected an acquisition offer for its PeopleReady segment from competitor HireQuest. The fund manager remains cautious about sizing the position due to poor execution in recent years.
