Talphera, Inc. is a specialty pharmaceutical company focused on developing and commercializing therapies for use in medically supervised settings. Its lead product candidate, Niyad, is a lyophilized formulation of nafamostat intended as a regional anticoagulant for infusion into the extracorporeal circuit. The company is also developing LTX-608, a lyophilized vial of nafamostat for IV infusion for disseminated intravascular coagulation, acute respiratory distress syndrome, acute pancreatitis, and antiviral treatment, as well as Fedsyra, an ephedrine pre-filled syringe for injection, and a phenylephrine pre-filled syringe for injection. Formerly known as AcelRx Pharmaceuticals, Inc., it changed its name to Talphera, Inc. in January 2024, was incorporated in 2005, and is headquartered in San Mateo, California.

Talphera NEPHRO CRRT hits 75% enrollment, sees 200,000 U.S. procedures in 2027

Talphera said its NEPHRO CRRT study has reached 75% enrollment and remains on track to complete enrollment later this year. CEO Vincent Angotti said the estimated annual CRRT procedures in 2027 are approximately 200,000 in the United States, with about 70 institutions representing over 50% of those procedures. CFO Raffi Asadorian said cash at June 30, 2026, was $17.1 million, with two conditional financing tranches remaining totaling approximately $16 million of additional capital. Management expects top-line data about 4 weeks after enrollment completes and a PMA filing about 3 months later, targeting the first half of next year.
