Traws Pharma shares rise after Q2 loss beats expectations

Traws Pharma shares gained 3.9% in pre-market trading after the clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company reported a second-quarter adjusted loss of $0.16 per share, beating the analyst consensus estimate for a loss of $0.43 per share. The company generated no revenue during the quarter, compared with $2.7 million in the corresponding period of 2025, a decline driven by non-recurring deferred revenue from a terminated licensing agreement. Traws Pharma is targeting a third-quarter resubmission of tivoxavir marboxil to UK regulators and aims to resolve a US FDA clinical hold by the end of 2026. Research and development spending fell to $1.1 million from $2.3 million a year earlier, while general and administrative expenses rose to $3.5 million from $1.7 million. The company ended the quarter with $5.0 million in cash and expects its resources to fund operations into the first quarter of 2027.
