Trevi Therapeutics initiates Phase 3 OCEAN-1 trial for IPF-related chronic cough

Trevi Therapeutics initiated its Phase 3 OCEAN-1 trial for patients with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis-related chronic cough in the second quarter of 2026. The company also started the Phase 2b LAKE trial for refractory chronic cough and expects to begin the Phase 3 OCEAN-2 trial in the third quarter. Trevi ended the quarter with $318.9 million in cash, cash equivalents and marketable securities, bolstered by a $162.3 million stock offering in April, and reported a net loss of $17.8 million. The company plans to meet with the FDA regarding a development plan for non-IPF ILD-related chronic cough and expects topline data from OCEAN-1 in the first half of 2028.
