TSTH confident of strong profit in Q2 FY2026-27, buoyed by rising steel prices and weak baht

Tata Steel Thailand, or TSTH, expects profit in the second quarter of fiscal year 2026-27 to remain strong, continuing from the first quarter. Although steel sales volume is likely to stay flat at around 334,000 tonnes due to the rainy season slowing domestic construction, the company will benefit from higher selling prices driven by rising raw material costs amid the Middle East situation, and a weaker baht at 33 to 33.50 per US dollar. These factors will support revenue and profit, especially from exports which account for 15 to 20 percent of total sales. The company sees a more pronounced recovery in the second half as construction investment picks up from October 2026 onwards.
