Univest Q2 EPS rises 18.8% despite OREO charge

Univest Corporation of Pennsylvania reported second-quarter 2026 net income of $23 million, or $0.82 per share, with earnings per share up 18.8% from a year earlier. The quarter included a $5.2 million pre-tax valuation adjustment on an OREO property that reduced after-tax earnings by $4.1 million, or $0.15 per diluted share. Net interest income increased $2.9 million, or 4.5%, from the first quarter and rose $6.7 million, or 11.3%, from the year-earlier quarter, driven by higher loan balances, improved asset yields and lower funding costs. Management expects full-year net interest income growth of 8% to 10% and maintained its outlook for loan growth of approximately 2% to 3%. Credit quality was a focus after a $28.6 million commercial loan was placed on non-accrual status with a $9.8 million specific reserve, while the company continued share repurchases and remains open to M&A.
