Vermilion Energy receives TSX approval for new share buyback program
Vermilion Energy has received TSX approval to launch a new normal course issuer bid. The company can repurchase up to 15.16 million common shares, representing approximately 10% of its public float, from July 12, 2026, to July 11, 2027. Any shares repurchased under the NCIB will be cancelled, reducing the total shares outstanding. Vermilion expects to return 40% of excess free cash flow to shareholders in 2026, primarily through dividends and share repurchases. Under its previous NCIB, the company had repurchased approximately 1.75 million shares at a weighted average price of $12.43 per share as of June 30, 2026.
