Watts Water Q2 revenue beats estimates on data center cooling demand

Watts Water Technologies reported second-quarter revenue of $763.2 million, beating analyst estimates of $727.3 million and growing 18.6% year over year, driven by strong demand for data center cooling solutions. Adjusted EPS came in at $3.66 versus estimates of $3.34, while organic revenue rose 12% year over year. CEO Robert Pagano said the total addressable market for data center cooling doubled to $2 billion with the inclusion of Europe and new global opportunities, and highlighted the launch of Cool Vault thermal storage tanks as a major driver. Management noted continued softness in residential and nonresidential construction markets, but said recent price actions should keep margins steady despite inflation. The company also cited operational discipline and supply chain management in response to Middle East conflict and tariffs as key contributors to the quarter's results.

Watts Water Technologies Stock Looks Fully Valued After 164% Run

Watts Water Technologies has delivered a 164.3% total return over the past five years, and at around US$368 per share the stock now appears fully valued. A Discounted Cash Flow analysis based on trailing free cash flow of about US$322 million yields an intrinsic value estimate of roughly US$339 per share, implying the stock is about 8.9% overvalued. On an earnings basis, the current price-to-earnings ratio of 33.6x sits above the Machinery industry average of 27.9x and a modelled fair multiple of 24.9x, suggesting investors are paying a premium. A recent upgrade and higher price target from Barclays tied to demand trends and data center contracts support optimistic expectations, but any disappointment in cash flow conversion remains a key risk. Overall, both cash-flow and earnings-based frameworks point to a stock that is closer to fully priced than undervalued.
