Willamette Valley Vineyards Q2 Loss Widens on Distributor Bankruptcy

Willamette Valley Vineyards reported a wider second-quarter 2026 net loss of $1.4 million, or $0.40 per common share after preferred dividends, compared with net income of $92,795, or a loss of $0.09 per share, a year earlier. Net sales decreased 1.6% to $10 million, as Direct Sales revenues fell 4.8% to $5.2 million while Distributor Sales revenues rose 2.2% to $4.8 million. Gross profit declined 7.1% to $5.8 million, and total operating expenses surged 22.5% to $7.1 million, largely due to a roughly $1.1 million credit-loss reserve tied to the Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing of its largest distributor, Republic National Distributing Company. Management said it is transitioning distributor relationships and does not anticipate a long-term disruption to product distribution. The company also filed a prospectus supplement covering the potential sale of up to 555,555 shares of Series A Redeemable Preferred Stock for aggregate proceeds of up to $1.8 million, though no net proceeds had been received as of June 30, 2026.
