イングランド銀行は17日、政策金利を3.75％に据え置くことを再び6対3の賛成多数で決定した。金融政策委員会では3人が4％への引き上げを支持し、ロイターがまとめたエコノミスト調査の予想と一致した。中銀は2027年初めに英国のインフレ率が4％を超えるとの見通しを示し、ベイリー総裁は中東での紛争が長引けば金融引き締めが必要になる可能性があるとの認識を示した。今後6カ月間、国債売却を全て一時停止するという予想外の決定も下した。中銀は第3・四半期の経済成長率予想を従来の0.1％から0.4％に引き上げる一方、8月に3.1％だったインフレ率は27年初めにやや4％を上回る可能性があると指摘した。
