AbbVie is approaching a nearly $11 billion agreement to buy anti-inflammatory drug developer Apogee Therapeutics, according to The Financial Times. Apogee investors are set to receive $10.9 billion in cash, implying about a 60% premium to the company’s last closing price. The deal is expected to be announced as early as Monday, subject to no eleventh-hour changes. If finalized, it would be AbbVie’s largest acquisition since its $80 billion deal for Allergan in 2019, further boosting its immunology franchise led by Humira, Skyrizi, and Rinvoq, which together generated $30.4 billion last year.
