Argentina LNG has applied to join Argentina's Large Investment Incentive Regime as it pursues a $51bn integrated LNG project offshore Río Negro in the Gulf of San Matías. The project, sponsored by YPF, Eni and ADNOC's XRG, would convert Vaca Muerta gas into LNG for export using two floating units with 12 million tonnes per annum combined capacity. It is expected to generate around $10bn in export revenues per year over 20 years, with investment projected to reach $29bn by 2031. Construction is forecast to create about 20,000 jobs annually from 2026 to 2030, peaking at 40,000 in the third year. The RIGI application is seen as a step toward a final investment decision by the end of 2026.
